I've copied what you posted in Bitches last night. It's beautiful, and the most comprehensive and truest eulogy I've read. I know you don't post to your LJ, but you might make an exception this one time.
Umm. I feel kind of shy about it, though... I didn't really know Gus that well, and I'm realizing, wandering through all the threads reading other people's reminiscinces, how much closer he was to many other Buffistas, some of whom had ongoing offline friendships with him more intense and reflective than any of us saw on the board. I don't wanna be all "Behold my eloquent grief! Sure, I barely knew him compared to many of you, but ain't I just eloquent?" Bah.
Don't be shy! What you said about Gus was all so very true. One of the remarkable things about Gus was that even if you only had one or two interactions with him they were all memorable and made an impact on you. The fact that comes through in your post is the best eulogy Gus could get.
