Bless his heart, Joe could never hold a job
What with all that drinkin'
I heard Mandy gave back his ring, poor thing
and now he's taken up with that city girl
What's he thinkin'?
Bless his heart, bless his heart

Chorus:
That's a magic phrase, I can talk for days
It's like having a get-out-of-hell-free card
I can gossip with the best and call it a prayer request
As long as I start with "Bless His Heart"

Bless her heart, Sue's carrying so much weight
After all the babies
She's gonna wreck her health I fear, poor dear
Was that her husband's truck at Crystal's house?
Maybe
Bless her heart, bless her heart

Chorus:
That's a magic phrase, you'd be amazed
It's like having a get-out-of-hell-free card
I can gossip with the best and call it a prayer request
As long as I start with "Bless Her Heart"

I know it's juicy stuff
But we can't get enough
And I'm just lifting it up...

Bless your heart, I can see you on the back row, honey
Are you hurtin'?
Is there something you want me to say, I pray>
Come on and sit by me, I'll take your burden
Bless your heart, bless your heart

Chorus:
It's a magic phrase, nobody pays
It's like having a get-out-of-hell free card
I can gossip with the best and call it a prayer request
As long as I start with "Bless Your Heart"

Bless your heart, bless your heart.

Oh, this made me laugh! I told some of my Yankee friends that "bless your heart" is really a polite Southernism for "what a tragic loser" and nobody quite gets it. Maybe I'll give them this song.
