Tell me three things I ought to do before I die. Then, if you care to, post this in your LJ and ask your friends to do the same.

Scuba dive in clear warm water; from 60-150 feet down, look up at the light shimmering down through the watery ceiling above you. The farther down, the more mass of water you can see and it's *really cool.*

Ski a perfect run.

Walk in a beautiful wooded area in a soft misty rain.

The diving sounds wonderful. I've done the woods walk in all weathers. And my knees would never let me ski, more's the pity.

1. Eat Peking Duck or pressed duck; your call.
2. Fly in a balloon.
3. Eat morel mushrooms.

I've always wanted to take a balloon ride. Maybe I will!

I've had both Peking and pressed duck--yum! I also invited two other couples to dinner, and served...one duck. And a hastily assembled casserole when the duck proved vastly inadequate, as duck will do.

And I'm all for mushrooms, morels are now on the list.

1. Retreat to the desert/mountains for a weekend of refreshment.
2. Grow your favorite fruit and eat it fresh from the ground.
3. Submit something for publishing that you love, but think is too personal/self-indulgent/irrelevant/other.

Can you believe it? I've actually done all three! I'd still like to do a week in the desert, though.

Hee! That's great. You should come out to see me! I'm about as middle of nowhere as it is possible to get. There are prettier areas of desert elsewhere, though. Here it's lots of scrub brush and badlands.

1) Make a bonfire out of a bad memory with photos, letters, anything that keeps it alive for you.

2) Spend a weekend completely alone, and explore your thoughts and dreams.

3) Audit a class in a subject that's always interested you.

I don't have tangible evidence of my bad memories. I have written them down and burned the paper, though, does that count?

I spend a lot of time alone. But I remember when my kids were young and I was working 9-5 that I would have killed for an evening alone. I traveled on business, and my counterparts in other cities learned not to plan my evenings, that I'd be reading in a bubble bath and watching my own choices on tv or reading!

I might just investigate auditing. Thanks!

What an intriguing question. I'll give it a shot.

1. Forgive somebody to his or her face.
2. Take a class in something truly "not you".
3. Be a mentor.

I get so jazzed from forgiving other people, I have to admit I don't do it for them, but for me. It's self-serving, really.

Hmmm. I'll have to look into the not-me classes.

I have mentored, and I tend to, at the least opportunity. It's still a rush to me that I know more than other people, and can help someone else.
