I read today that Bush is enforcing, now that he has the mandate and the will of the people (new buzzwords! use 'em! make 'em scripture!), limiting the former 3-question rule to the new 1-question rule. What if he gave a press conference and nobody came? What if all the press just drifted away and didn't give a rap about anything he had to say--because let's face it, it's all lies and buzzwords, anyway. Surely there are other sources for factual news? Can't the news corps, the networks, the newspapers not owned by Murdoch just ignore him?
Can we run the country around him? I'm liking this idea, but I don't know how actually practical it is. Still, it's awfully fun to think about.

Depends on how entrenched the bureaucracy is. Canada, certainly, keeps running when Parliament is not in session and the PM is on vacation.
