Music flows around her. Rough wool scratches her arm where it links through his, and her face, where she leans against him: wool and Old Spice and another familiar scent mingled. She glances up to the choir loft; sharp eyes are upon her, over the top edge of the hymnal. She drops her gaze and shrinks tighter against him.

He reaches in his pocket and offers her a tiny stick of Dentyne. She unwraps it greedily and pops it into her mouth. The burst of sweet and cinnamon blocks, for an instant, that Medusa's gaze.

Well, I missed my LJ-incept-anniversary date. It was 4/27. There was some reflective meme about first-anniversary observance, but I've forgotten what it was, so this will have to do.

I managed with an unpaid membership for 10+ months--and in the last two months serasempre spoiled me so thoroughly with backgrounds and titles and images and a favorite literary quotation, plus rafts of lovely icons...

...and Stephl began a non-fanfic drabble community which has led to a minor but possibly portentous chink in the granite writers block of more than a year.

So I'm glad I'm here. And manymany thanks to e_juliana for the code necessary to join LiveJournal a year ago.
