Wheee! Married sex!
I've been a slacker here, but what else is new? I bought two new tarot decks yesterday, but one's for a friend's birthday. I ordered another online, I've had my eye on it for a longish time and I got a good deal on it, so. My teacher/mentor dropped by the house the other day and gifted me with a copy of "78 Degrees of Wisdom." THE book about tarot, as far as I've been able to learn. But when I was in the store picking up the decks I saw one that intrigued me, so when I got home I looked it up at the three or four tarot websites that show examples from the various decks, and just fell in love with it, so I called the store back today and had them hold it for me. Oy. Addict.
But apparently only to collecting and not reading, because I don't seem to be doing much of that, not even for myself. And while I was checking out the tarot sites I stumbled across a deck that's OOP and of course I had to have it. So I tried tracking it down--so far no luck. But I have seen another deck drawn by the same artist at a metaphysical shop a couple of hours away. I may have to take a wee road trip before long.
Days after Beltane I finally cleared off and rebuilt my altar. I hadn't done it since after Midwinter. A tall pillar candle of pale green and leaf-design votive holders in verdigrised copper and frosted glass, the double fish-handled bowl on the twisted iron stand as a chalice, with the ceramic fish design incense holder, the bronze bear, stone owl and turtle totem figures. Centered with a white taper in the bisque candlestick painted with pale green leaves and vines, all on the pale grey altarcloth printed with leaves and bees. It feels right, and it looks nice, balanced, a little spare. It won't be long before I'll need to clear and rebuild it for summer.
