Actually, TC's a brown tabby, a stripey cat. The stripes on his back, though, are dark on dark, and he was facing strong light off snow, so it's hard to see stripes in that picture. serasempre used just the cat's outline in the collage she made for my page background, too. If you look, you can tell his left haunch is much smaller than his right.

I'm such a coward I can't let TC outside, at all. I've listened for the kids' cars in the driveway before I could fall asleep, and lost too many cats to cars to be able to do that anymore. I'm such a devious person I take him out on the deck in my arms...but only when it's very bright sunlight, or falling rain, or falling snow. No soft twilights or pre-dawns for him. Outside is scary to him now, and I'd like it to stay that way.
